I Love What I Do
So, as you can probably guess by now, I have a pretty quirky nature about me, but don’t let my crazy antics and light-hearted ways fool you! When it comes to providing excellent service to my clients, I’m all business. Project and time management are just as important to me as top-notch, current design trends and clean coding. My “type A+” personality ensures you’ll be thrilled with your final designs and/or website. And, hopefully, you will have enjoyed the collaborative process we will have embarked on together to boot!
I’ve been in the graphic design industry for 20+ years and hope to continue for another 20! It gives me a great excuse to sit around in wifi cafés all day while earning a living…so why not? Coffee, tea, happiness and me.
Otherwise, I spend my spare time riding motorcycles, drumming with my all-female ’80s cover band, Flock of Seagirls (FlockOfSeagirlsBand.com), play rhythm guitar & keys with my ’90s cover band, Flannel, or just hanging out with my friends and family. “Good times?” you ask? Check, check, check and CHECK!
Here a Spiel, There a Spiel
I’ve been doing this gig for so long, some people seem to think I really know what I’m talking about and regularly ask me to share all the tips, tricks and other such info I have rolling around in my head!
From the Client’s Perspective
I give quarterly, two-day seminars at Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, CA to their Business and Marketing class about the importance of professional branding and having a great web presence.
For Those Interested in the Multimedia Industry
I also guest speak once every semester for various advanced multimedia courses at Ohlone College in Fremont, CA regarding business basics for the multimedia industry. This spiel became so popular that, since spring semester 2015, this 2-3 hour chit-chat was expanded into a four-Saturday, 18-hour seminar course that can be taken for credit (CRN MM-161).
I also teach a full semester, advanced-level WordPress website design course at Las Positas College in Livermore, CA. This course has quite a few prerequisites, so it is only offered once every couple of years.
I enjoyed my time in your class. I learned so much, and your class inspired me to create a freelance business in the future. Thank you!Richard A.
